How to configure a cisco 7940 phone

- Go to \\10.10.10.10

- Access the folder TFTP-Root

Here you can find the SIP Flash Image for your phone. If the version is not the good one then go to cisco website,           look for the phone you want to update and download the corresponding SIP Flash Image. Then save the files in the           TFTP-Root folder.

-Once you have the right SIP Flash Image, make sure that the first line in "SIPDefault.cnf" correspond to the right image version that you have (image_version: "P0S3-07-5-00").

-Acces the folder Config

-Here you can set the phone with the client infos

-First you need to make a copy of the 3 files; CTLSEPmac.tlv, SEPmac.cnf and SIPmac.cnf

-Replace "mac" in the files' name with the mac adress of the phone you want to update (SIPmac.cnf becomes SIP0009433cd627.cnf). Do that for the 3 files CTLSEPmac.tlv, SEPmac.cnf and SIPmac.cnf

-Open the file SIPmac.cnf with notepad++, modify the 2 lines:

         line1_authname: ""
         line1_password: ""

You can find authname and password in the client's info (services>>corresponding line)

-Now you can plug in the phone and wait for it to update automatically.

-Your phone is now configured!
