What is a Cloud VPC?
A Virtual Private Cloud lets you run isolated compute with dedicated CPU and RAM on Boxis infrastructure — secured away from noisy neighbours and with private networking between your own tiers.
How is Cloud VPC different from Cloud VPS?
Cloud VPS shares hypervisor capacity. Cloud VPC reserves dedicated CPU and RAM for your tenant, with stronger isolation and private networking for multi-tier production setups.
What are private network segments?
Private segments connect your VPC resources on non-public addressing so app, API and database nodes can talk securely without exposing every service to the internet.
Can tiers in the same VPC communicate?
Yes. We design routing and firewall rules so front-end, application and data tiers communicate as needed — while blocking unwanted paths by default.
Do VPC nodes need a public IPv4?
No. Database and internal app nodes can run on private IPs only. Public addresses are assigned where you need inbound internet access.
Can I customise a published plan?
Yes. Published sizes are starting points. We can adjust cores, RAM, disk, bandwidth and private network layout — request a quote with your target architecture.
Where is my VPC hosted?
In Boxis Swiss data centres, with monitoring and support from our local teams. Data stays under Swiss / GDPR-aligned controls.
Can I connect VPC with Bare Metal or colocation?
Yes. Hybrid designs are common: keep elastic VPC compute for apps and attach Bare Metal or Swiss colocation for high I/O or compliance-sensitive components.
When should I choose Bare Metal instead?
Choose Bare Metal for maximum disk I/O, physical isolation, specialised hardware or workloads that must run without a virtualisation layer.
