  • Information or credentials you received from Boxis (contract, welcome e-mail, or client area).

Overview

This tutorial will describe in detail your options for muting calls and placing calls on hold using your Cisco IP Conference Phone 8831.

Hold

To put a call on hold, press the Hold softkey. The hold icon appears and the LED indicators pulse green.

Press the Applications softkey.

Resume

If there is only one call on hold, press the Resume softkey

Swap

You can swap between holding and active calls by using the Swap softkey. The holding call becomes active, and the active call is placed on hold.

Conference Station

The conference station can be muted in two ways: you can either press the Mute button on the Sound Base or on the Display Control Unit. The LED indicators on both pieces will illuminate red when the sound is muted.

Expected result

  • The product behaves as described in each step (connectivity, message, or UI state).

If something goes wrong

  • Repeat the step and check for typos (hostnames, passwords, ports).
  • Note the exact error message or screenshot.
  • Open a ticket in the Boxis client area with the service name, time of the test, and any trace (e.g. traceroute) if it is a network issue.
