Cause

 

Resolution

  To re-issue a RapidSSL certificate, perform the following steps.   Generate a Certificate Signing Request (CSR)  

Access the RapidSSL User Portal for SSL certificate re-issuance

  1. Click https://products.geotrust.com/geocenter/reissuance/reissue.do
  2. Provide the common name, technical contact e-mail address associated with the SSL order, and the image number generated from the Geotrust User Authentication page.
  3. Select Request Accessagainst the correct order ID.
  4. An e-mail will be sent to the technical contact e-mail address specified above
  5. Click on the link listed in the e-mail to enter the User Portal
  6. Click the Reissue Certificateoption in the left hand column Note: If the Reissue option is not available in the User Portal then contact order processing to request a manual re-issuance.
  7. On the following screen copy and paste the new CSR
  8. Select the Subscriber Agreement, click Submit
  9. After the order is approved the SSL certificate will be re-issued Note: Any changes to the certificate's Common Name during replacement will require manual approval - RapidSSL - requires a manual approval through domain authorization e-mail for certificate re-issuance - RapidSSL Wildcard - requires a manual approval through the domain authorization e-mail for the certificate re-issuance

RapidSSL Certificate installation

Important Installation Notice: All certificates are now issued using intermediate CA certificates. Be sure to install the correct intermediate CA with your reissued certificate.

Expected result

  • The product behaves as described in each step (connectivity, message, or UI state).

If something goes wrong

  • Repeat the step and check for typos (hostnames, passwords, ports).
  • Note the exact error message or screenshot.
  • Open a ticket in the Boxis client area with the service name, time of the test, and any trace (e.g. traceroute) if it is a network issue.
