What you'll accomplish

  • Complete the configuration or task described in this guide for your Boxis service.

Prerequisites

  • Access to the interface, device, or server described below.
  • Information or credentials you received from Boxis (contract, welcome e-mail, or client area).

Note Boxis: Offers and screens may differ slightly depending on your product. When in doubt, open a support ticket with your service reference.

For the transfer of a domain name .ch, an authorization code (Authcode) is required. The authorization code can be obtained from your current .ch domain provider. Domain name .ch are usually recorded in Switch AG, the Swiss registration authority for extensions .ch.

If this is the case, log on to http://www.nic.ch/, then select "Transfer" in the upper navigation. You will then see a list of all domain names for which you are registered as the holder or billing contact, because you are allowed to order the transfer code for these domain names. Select the domain name that you would like to tranfer and click "submit transfer code." The transfer codes will be sent to the owner of domain names by e-mail. If the holder transmits codes to the partner, it may well be transferring domain names. Transfer code received by the holder of a use-by date, if this time is exceeded, you will need to reapply.

If the authorization code is not available on http://www.nic.ch/, then your domain name .ch is managed by a partner Switch AG. In this case, contact your service provider who manages your domain name .ch.

Expected result

  • The product behaves as described in each step (connectivity, message, or UI state).

If something goes wrong

  • Repeat the step and check for typos (hostnames, passwords, ports).
  • Note the exact error message or screenshot.
  • Open a ticket in the Boxis client area with the service name, time of the test, and any trace (e.g. traceroute) if it is a network issue.
